How it is lit

Three quiet steps.

UAE Candle set aside, and a tea light waiting on the white saucer.
  1. 01

    The light

A tea light, centred on the saucer. Nothing larger. The metal cup sits low, so the flame stays inside the dome.

  2. 02

    The dome

Lower UAE Candle straight down. The opening at the top lets the heat rise. The base meets the saucer and the room draws in.

  3. 03

    The room

Dim the lamps. The relief was always there. Candlelight is what lets you read it.

Every side

Turn it slowly.

The house

A studio in Sharjah.

By Shareefa is the house name of Sharifa Al Ali Trading. The candles are porcelain domes, meant to be lived with on a table, not kept behind glass.
